and What are your favorite memories of the late, great Alexis Arguello?  What are some of your favorite memories of Alexis Arguello, “the explosive thin man” from Nicaragua? Any favorite fights or lasting memories? For me, it was his seventh round TKO stoppage of Bobby Chacon when he was behind on all scorecards and opened up a cut on “The Schoolboy’s” eye to get the win. Also, his 14 round war with Aaron Pryor stands out to mind because it was one of the best fights I have ever seen. A true action-packed, back-and-forth brawl before Pryor scored the decisive TKO win in the fourteenth round. Here are some random weight lifting stats from my last maxouts about three months ago (bear in mind I dont lift for power, and I rarely do less than 15 reps for a particular exercise)
Bench Press: 245 lbs.
Squat: 285 lbs. - 300lbs (some dispute cause I had a spotter)
Dead Lift: 365 lbs.
Power Clean: 185 lbs. (this is not a full hang clean, but just where you throw it up chest high and then drop it)
Here are some numbers from like 7 years ago when I played football, bear in mind I was only 17, and Im 24 now so they are sure to have improved:
40 yard dash: 4.77… I was a strong safety so I guess that’s decent for a little country 3a school.
Vertical Jump: 29”
Bench Reps: 135×23… I always had better stamina than raw strength
